  • Next Generation Kids Krav Maga Certified

Tracie began her Krav Maga training in the spring of 2008. Krav quickly became a passion for Tracie. She has since traveled to Colorado, Utah, Nevada and California to participate in some of the best Krav Maga training seminars currently being offered. In addition to giving Tracie the opportunity to train with other students from around the world, these seminars have given her the privilege of learning from instructors such as John Whitman, Donovin Britt, James Hiromasa and Nir Maman. Each and every combination of different training partners of different skill levels and unique training scenarios has been a quality learning experience. Tracie is continually awed by the talent and dedication of the instructors and students she has gotten to know from around the world.

In addition to her Krav Maga training, Tracie has taken combat handgun training courses from Triple Threat Firearms of Boise. Shooting has been a part of Tracie's life from a young age, and she is very passionate about the weapons training she continues to receive.

Tracie also holds a red belt in Tae Kwon Do from the ATA.

Laena Hopman

Level I Certified Krav Maga Instructor - Krav Maga Alliance
Laena joined IKM as a student in 2014 and became part of the instructor team in 2015. Having taken multiple martial arts, including Taekwondo, Kyuki-Do, Jujitsu, and holding a brown belt in Judo, she was looking to train in a more self-defense oriented martial art.

"One class with Tracie sold me on IKM and Krav Maga. My first class was one of the big stress drill nights, and even though I was out of my comfort zone I knew that was exactly where I needed to be to get what I wanted out of training. I had been hesitant to try Krav Maga, hearing before that it was brutal. I don't think that is the right word for it though. It is aggressive and efficient, but the training is safe and it is by far the most useful system I've done for self defense. Everything in Krav Maga is applicable to modern day scenarios."

Laena is also a full time registered nurse. "The patients get nervous when one of my co-workers jokes to 'watch out for me because my hands are lethal weapons.' Not exactly what you want to hear about your nurse. It does give me a chance to tell them about my other job, which I love. It's the coolest thing I've ever done"
